THE “BEAR” FACTS:  SOUTH COAST WINERY AWARDED “BEST OF THE BEST” WITH BACK-TO-BACK PRESENTATION OF CALIFORNIA STATE WINERY OF THE YEAR AWARD
TEMECULA, CA – JULY 10, 2009 –  The results of North America’s oldest wine competition, the 2009 California State Fair Wine Competition, have been tallied, and the “bear” facts are in:  South Coast Winery Resort & Spa retains its “Golden Bear State Winery of the Year” position, and this Southern California Temecula Valley Wine Country Winery remains at the top of the state’s “Best of the Best” rankings for the second consecutive year in a row.

With just five (5) years of wine production under its belt, South Coast Winery spun the industry “sideways” last year with its first Golden State Winery of the Year win; and it continues to capture the attention from both international and national wine buyers and critics across the nation for its wine quality, value, and selection as results from 2009 Wine Competitions continue to come in.

“With this back-to-back win, South Coast Winery continues to demonstrate to the world that Southern California’s Temecula Valley is a quality, award-winning wine region,” states Jim Carter, owner/vintner for South Coast Winery Resort & Spa.  “While I am personally pleased with our performance, this win is not just for South Coast Winery.  We are proud to share this prestigious accomplishment and the attention with the entire region.”
 

It has always been the vision of owner/vintner Jim Carter to create the finest vineyards that would produce the greatest wines, however, that’s not all Carter found himself particularly good at.  The resort side of the South Coast Winery enterprise completes the wine country experience and has earned high rankings on the internet’s top travel sites for its luxury villas, award-winning restaurant and a three-story 15,000 square foot destination spa tucked away in its vineyards.   In 2007, South Coast Winery Restaurant & Tasting Room opened its doors in Orange County California allowing more
Southern California guests to enjoy the blending of nature, fine wine, fine food, and elegant comforts.
